The annual Archbishop’s Gala is Sacred Heart Major Seminary’s signature event in support of tomorrow’s priests, deacons, and lay leaders. Attendees will enjoy a fine dinner, an entertaining program, a chance to win valuable raffle items, and a chance to meet up with good friends for good conversation. The Archbishop’s Gala is held in the picturesque Grand Riverview Ballroom in Detroit’s Cobo Center—perhaps the premiere conference venue in all of southeastern Michigan. Please mark your calendars. Archbishop’s Gala 2018 will be Friday, June 15. The Most Rev. Allen H. Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit, and the entire Sacred Heart family hope to see you there.

Sacred Heart Major Seminary

Forming Hearts and Minds. Proclaiming Jesus Christ.

The mission of Sacred Heart Major Seminary is simple and compelling: to educate and form priests, deacons, and lay ministers to be leaders of the new evangelization of our increasingly secularized world.

Sacred Heart’s students are formed by highly-credentialed instructors who teach according to the mind of the Church. Students are inspired by the example of the Good Shepherd and the surrounding urban environment to answer the call to serve human needs. Called into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, students are thereby prepared to assist others into that same intimate friendship.

Dear Friends in Christ,

From my first days as a seminarian, Sacred Heart Major Seminary has been close to my heart, and since returning to Detroit that bond has only grown stronger.

I am proud of Sacred Heart’s administrators, spiritual directors, and world-class educators as they work to develop the exemplary priests the Church so critically needs. Sacred Heart’s seminarians—and the future deacons and lay co-workers who also are educated at Sacred Heart—will one day be bringing the love and mercy of Christ into parishes and ministries throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit. As a regional seminary with an international reach, Sacred Heart is sending out graduates of passionate faith into dioceses and ministries throughout the state of Michigan, across the United States, and across the globe, as well.

Please consider being my guest, and the guest of Msgr. Todd Lajiness, the rector of Sacred Heart, at the upcoming Archbishop’s Gala 2016. Your attendance will be making a statement—that supporting the Catholic evangelists of tomorrow is close to your heart, too.

I look forward to seeing you at this enjoyable and lively Gala at Cobo Center on Friday evening, June 17.

Entrusting all to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, I remain

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Allen H. Vigneron Archbishop of Detroit
